Halifax County United Soccer Club’s Fall/Winter Program

The club is proud to offer a full range of programs for Mini, Youth and Senior players.  Our programs are designed to foster a love for the sport at all ages.  Our program features include certified, professional Technical Staff at all levels to ensure we deliver a program tailored for every age group, level and player.  We are very proud to be a leader in the soccer community when it comes this approach as we believe we offer a program that is unique and progressive.

*Please note that all senior fees do not include weekly practice times.  Also note that league fees are not finalized for some senior leagues so fees may change. 


 
Winter Programs will start after thanksgiving weekend.

Mini Program (U6-U10)  there have been changes to the schedule due to registration numbers for U8 Girls Foundation & U10 Foundation Boys & Girls.

The Mini Program offers Foundation level (introductory) training for all players and Academy level (advanced) training for our U8s and U10s.  The Club’s technical staff delivers a standardized program with the assistance of volunteers. 

Foundation Level (runs October to March, taking December off)

The Foundation level of the Mini Program introduces players to the skills they need to play soccer with confidence. Certified technical staff run all sessions.  Schedule may be altered due to enrolment.

U6 Foundation
Sessions are held on Sundays 9am or Noon at St. Margaret's Bay Arena Gym
Our youngest players participate in a one-hour fun-filled session, one day per week. The Club’s Technical staff provides instruction for the program.

U8 Foundation
Sessions are held on Sunday afternoons 10am or 1pm for the Boys, 11am for the Girls at St. Margaret's Bay Arena Gym.  Numbers permitting there will be a bi-weekly game as well.

Half of the session will be dedicated to skill development and the other half to playing the game.  Numbers permitting there will be a bi-weekly game as well.  Schedule may be altered due to enrolment.

U10 Foundation
Change to schedule: Boys Sundays 3-4pm at St Margaret's Bay Arena Gym, Girls 2-3pm at St Margaret's Bay Arena Gym.  Bi-weekly games.
The Foundation Level U10 program introduces players to the skills they need to play soccer with confidence and begins to teach tactical play.   The program will go once a week for an hour. Half of the session will be dedicated to skill development and the other half to playing the game.  Numbers permitting there will be a bi-weekly game as well.  Schedule may be altered due to enrolment.

Academy Level (runs October to March, taking December off)

The Academy Level of the Mini Program is designed for committed U8 and U10 age players that display an above average aptitude for the game. Players must be assessed to determine if they are ready to participate at this level.  The fall winter program for the Academy goes from October to March, with a one month break in December.  The schedule for the fall Academy assessments is provided below. Note: All players interested in the Academy must attend assessments even if they were previously in the Academy Program.

U8 Academy
Boys practice Tuesdays & Saturdays, Girls Mondays & Saturdays, game Sundays
U8 players that are accepted for Academy level training will practice twice a week with our Senior Academy instructors.  Players will also play games against other club’s U8 academy groups.

U10 Academy
Practices will be held Monday through Sunday, each team will be assign 3 sessions a week but we'll be flexible to allow players to attend different sessions to fit their schedule, games Saturdays for Girls, Sundays for Boys
U10 players that are accepted for Academy Level training will practice 3 times a week with our Academy instructors and play once a week.  Academy Level players will be assigned to either an A or B team.  They will play in an Academy league in the new Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre.

Youth Program

Runs October to March, taking December off for regular training, individual teams may add sessions

U12 Tier 2A and 2B
U12 players that are selected will practice 2 or more times a week with our Academy instructors and/or their team coach and they play in the in the Metro Indoor Soccer League (MISL.ca) held in the Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre.

U12 Tier 2C
The Tier 2C program is designed for players that like to play soccer but are not ready or do not wish to play at the Tier 2A or 2B level. Teams practice once a week with Technical Staff and  play in the in the Metro Indoor Soccer League (MISL.ca) held in the Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre.

Tier 1 Level (U14A, U14B, U16 and U18)
Tier 1 soccer provides the highest level of competition and training offered by the Club. Tier 1 teams play in the Nova Scotia Soccer League (nssoccerleague.ca) held out of the Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre. Teams will train twice a week.

Tier 2A Level (U16-U18)
Tier 2A for U14 to U18 is intended for experienced committed players that are ready for relatively advanced training and competition. They play in the in the Metro Indoor Soccer League (MISL.ca) held in the Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre. Teams will have at least one session a week run by Technical Staff.

Tier 2B Level (U14-U18)
The Tier 2B program for U14 to U16 players is designed for players that like to play soccer but are not ready or do not wish to play at the Tier 2A or Tier 1 level.  Improving the players’ skill and tactical play while having fun is the objective. Teams will train once a week with Technical Staff.  They play in the in the Metro Indoor Soccer League (MISL.ca) held in the Soccer Nova Scotia Training Centre.

Senior Soccer

The club is proud to offer multiple levels at the senior level.

Premier League
These players play in the Nova Scotia Soccer League (NSSL), a province - wide league showcasing the highest level of soccer in the Province.  Tryout will be held in late October or early November.

Senior B/C Soccer
These players are interested in a competitive environment and are dedicated players committed to attending games and practices regularly. It is however recognised that many of the players work or have families, which must, of course, take precedence.
