The modified season runs for 8 weeks starting the week of July 6

 

 

Mini Community Program

Available to kids at U6, U8, and U10, our 8 week Mini Program is designed to introduce players in our community to soccer skills, fair play, and sportsmanship in a fun atmosphere full of games and activities. The program is led by our club technical staff. The Mini Program goal is designed to develop a love for the game playing lots fun activities and small sided games.  The program will adhere to current provincial health COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

  • The U6 program requires one parent or other adult to particpate on session with their player throughout each session.
  • Space is limited.  Waitlist will be accepted.
  • Due to the nature of the current COVID-19 enviroment, friend requests cannot be accepted.

Youth Community

HCU’s Community Program provides a recreational soccer experience for players who want to continue to play soccer with friends from the community. Practice sessions will be led by trained HCU technical staff supported by club coaches. The summer 2020 modified 8 week program for 2020 will have two sessions each week where players will be able to play contact soccer drills and small-sided games.  The program will adhere to current provincial health COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

Skill Centre Program

HCU's Skill Centre program is for players age U8 - U11 who want to commit to a more structured soccer experience. The program is overseen by our Skill Centre Lead, Mike Hudson, and coached by Canadian Soccer Association trained staff. The modified 8 week training program starting July 6th will include two one-hour sessions lead by our club technical staff and age group coaches. Players will play in age-aligned groups of 9 with their coaches, and participate in contact drills and small-sided 4 v 4 games.  Players who participate in our Skill Centre program are being prepared for entry into our Pre-Performance program at Under 12. The program will adhere to current provincial health COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

Pre-Performance Program

The Pre-Performance program is designed to meet the needs of players that desire a more committed, challenging and competitive playing environment. The main goals for this program is to help each player reach their maximum soccer potential, and prepare players for entry into our Performance Program at U15. In addition, it is from our Pre-Performance program that players are identified for Soccer Nova Scotia’s provincial team programming. This years modified programming will include two 70 minute sessions per week for 8 weeks where players will play contact soccer in small groups. The program will adhere to current provincial health COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.

Performance AAA Program

HCU’s Performance Program is designed to meet the needs of players that desire a more committed, challenging and competitive playing environment.  In addition, it is from our Performance program that players will be identified for Soccer Nova Scotia’s provincial team programming and senior team programming at our club.

 

Regular programming operates over ten months from January to October.  Due to the suspension in training this season, the summer training schedule is revised. The program resuming July 6 will include two 70 minute sessions per week for 8 weeks. Players will play contact soccer in small groups. The program will adhere to current provincial health COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.
