Our Skills Centre programs are for our players aged U7-U11 who are showing interest in committing to soccer.
Skills Centre is where our players develop their love for the ball and love for the game in a more structured environment that teaches the skill competencies, behaviour competencies, and the game understanding required to set them up for success at the Pre-Performance level.
We want our players to feel comfortable to challenge themselves and build up their athletic and technical abilities while learning behaviors to succeed in and out of the soccer community. Great soccer players are also great human beings!
Starting in June, HCU will also have weekly drop-in game nights every Friday at no additional cost to our players!
Program begins with the “Skill Centre Kick Off Day” event, and an expected start date is @ BMO Soccer Centre on April 9th, 2023 where players can get to meet coaches/teammates and have fun playing soccer.
Starts on the week of June 12th, 2023. Two practices per week and each session is 60 minutes long. This program is offered for players who are registered in the HCU U7 Mini Community Program and seeking extra time on ball to develop the love of sport.
All of U8/U9/U10/U11 Skill Centre Programs include one session and one Skill Centre Internal Small Sided Game day (Saturday) per week until the end of May.
U8 and U9 consist of 2015 and 2016 aged players who will have 2 practices /week + 10 optional Saturday festivals where they play against other U8/U9 teams from clubs within the Halifax district. This is a top program at our club, we are proud of the amount of soccer we will be able to provide these players at a pivotal age/stage for their development. Our aim is to provide these 3 sessions per week, but keep it flexible for families. For those looking for more, we will have a weekly drop in.
U11 consists of U10 & U11 age players who will have 2 practices / week + a bi-weekly jamboree competing in the NSSL against other clubs from around HRM. For players at this age looking for more, we will have a Friday night drop in game night open for Skills Centre players at no additional cost.
Once HRM confirms the field booking for the summer, June/July/August schedule will be posted and communicated via email/TeamSnap.

Start Date (U8/9/10/11): April 22nd, 2023
